We had the lucky opportunity to get away to Seattle for a few days for the wedding of Nate's brother Jordan. We flew into Seattle on the evening of Wednesday April 30th and stayed until May 4th. We spent two days sightseeing and a day doing wedding stuff. It was a fun mini vacation and the weather was awesome (which is rare for Seattle). :) I decided to divide it into two posts so it wasn't a picture crazy post!!
Our first day was spent roaming around Pike Place Market, walking and boat touring around the harbor, riding the monorail, going up the space needle and eating lots of good food!!
Pike Place Market was awesome!!
Famous fish throwers behind the kids.
Tons of beautiful (and cheaply priced) flowers. You could buy a huge bouquet for $10 to $15. Wish I could have brought some home!
Famous Mac and Cheese!!
We went on a ferry ride around the harbor of the bay. It was so sunny and warm. I learned so much about Seattle. It was awesome! I had to get a picture of each kid with the Space Needle! :)
We rode the monorail to the space needle and decided to venture up to the top. It was an amazing view especially with the clear (not rainy) skies.
I was hoping you could see Mt. Rainier in the background but it was too hazy around the mountain. It was an amazing sight. Sadly we had to cut our day a little shorter than we wanted to because it was May Day and people like to protest and cause problems around downtown Seattle that day. We just felt so lucky to have had such perfect (85 degree) weather for our sight seeing!
