Gavin is 10!!

Gavin turned the big 10 on the 23rd.  It is crazy how fast the time has gone by.  Because it was a school day our celebrations were limited, but I think Gavin was happy with the way his day turned out.  He had a great day as school and came home with a nice card signed by his classmates.  We had a steak (and fish) dinner at his request.  Gavin loves steak!!  After dinner he opened his few presents.  It is getting harder and harder to get gifts for him.  What do you get a 10 year old who has everything?  More Legos?  It is hard to see my little Gavin growing up so fast, but I am sure proud of the young man he is becoming!!

The cake, Gavin's request of chocolate cake with a peanut butter frosting.  Much easier than having to decorate a cake! :)

He is loving Spider-man right now, so we went with that theme for decorations!

 Enjoying his big steak!!

More Legos. :( It was all he asked for, so what do you do?

Happy Birthday Gavin!!!

Easter 2014

Of course our camera battery was dead on the morning of Easter so we only managed to get a little video of the kids finding their Easter eggs.  We did get the camera battery charged by the time we went to church so here are the few decent pictures we got of the kids in their Easter attire.

Spring Break 2014

We get to have a little vacation up to Seattle the first week of May because of Uncle Jordan's wedding so we decided to keep it simple for Spring Break this year.  We spent the first part of the week at home and then stayed in a hotel in Salt Lake for a couple of nights.  It was the perfect way to spend our week (especially since the weather wasn't great).  We had time at home and time away.  One of the days we were home we took an adventure up to Cache Valley.  Gavin has Cache County for his county report so we decided to go learn more about it and get some pictures along the way.  I took a bunch of pictures, mostly of historical places in the county.  Nate was out of town, so my parents came along for the adventure.  We saw many places in Utah that we have never seen.  It was a fun day even though it was snowy and cold!

We just had to get some Aggie ice cream!

The second part of our week was spent doing fun stuff in Salt Lake.  We ate a lot of good food and the kids got a bunch of swimming in at the hotel.  We saw the new Muppet Movie to start our fun off.  The next day we went to the Natural History Museum up by the U of U.  It was very cool! I especially enjoyed the Chocolate exhibit! :)  We went to the Church History Museum too.  They have such a great kids area.  We ended our Spring Break watching general conference at Grandpa and Grandma Kohl's house.  It is so fun to have them living closer to us! It was a great week and REALLY hard to go back to school.  The only way I could motivate the boys to get to school the Monday after was to tell them "only 8 more weeks until summer!"  We can't wait!

Cool dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.

 View from the top!

The yummiest (and very interesting) part of the museum.

 Best buddies!

Brushing up on our Spanish dancing skills! :)

Yes, Liam is wearing a skirt.  That boy is crazy!

The flowers at Temple Square were beautiful, so of course I wanted a nice picture of the kids with the flowers in the background.  This is what I got:

Ashlyn is 5!!

Ashlyn had her 5th birthday on March 31st.  It is a long month to wait for your birthday, but it went by pretty quick for all of us.  Her birthday was the first day of Spring Break for us so she didn't have school which made for a long day of waiting to 'celebrate' her big day.  Ashlyn wanted to have a kitty theme for her birthday, so we decided on 'Hello Kitty' for her decorations and cake. She decided to go to the Syracuse Family Fun center and then have pizza for dinner.  Most of all she couldn't wait to open her presents.  Nate did an awesome job (again) on her birthday cake.  I know I say it every birthday, but I married a very talented man.  He does amazing birthday cakes!!  I think Ashlyn had a great birthday.  It is still hard to believe she is already 5.  My girl is growing up!!

The very desirable (and hard to find) Elsa doll!

 The birthday cake!  Pretty awesome!

This was her late birthday present because we wanted to find just the right one.  She learned to ride it (without training wheels) in one day.  We owe it all to her balance bike that she rode all last summer!! She is so happy to be able to ride bikes with her brothers!

These last two pics are from the Family Fun center.  Liam won over 1000 tickets on a game so everyone got to pick out tons of prizes!  Liam has won the jackpot numerous times.  He must be one lucky guy!! :)

March...It's over!!

March went by SO fast!!  I can't believe it's already the 7th of April.  Time just never slows down for us.  March was a busy, but good month.  We had some warm days that gave us a tease of Spring and allowed me to get the tree pruning and other yard clean up done.  I love being outdoors and working in my yard!!  Nate and the boys were able to ski a few more times before the season ended.  They finally got their cousin ski day in (the first one failed because of bad winds).  Ashlyn and I went on a preschool field trip to the Treehouse Museum. It was a fun place! Last of all Ashlyn had her birthday on the 31st! But that needs its own post! Here are a few pics of our month.

A sure sign of Spring, the forsythia blooming!!

Can't believe he will be 10 this month.

Ashlyn with her best bud Claire at dance class.

They are silly.

In order for the cousin ski day to happen I got to watch two of my nephews!  Here's one of them (Matthew) with Ashlyn!
And some pics from cousin ski day!!

Liam is really serious about his maps. ;)

My sister Aimee came to visit for a couple weeks.  It was so great to finally meet my new nephew Richard.  He is a handful, but so fun to be with!  Can't wait to see them again in June!

The next few are all from the Treehouse museum.  Ashlyn is with her other best bud Lilah. So much too do!

I had been promising Ashlyn that when the boys all went skiing we would go get our toes done, so on the last ski day (which happened to fall on Ashlyn's birthday weekend) we went and got our toes done.  Ashlyn loved it!! (so did I) :)

Now on to Ashlyn's big 5 birthday!!...
