Bees Baseball Game

Last Monday we went to a Salt Lake Bees baseball game with my family.   We usually wait until August to go, but everyone's schedules are so busy in August that we decided to do it sooner than later.  It was a little hot to begin with, but it eventually cooled off and was a fun night!  It was a great time except for the fact that Nate wasn't there.  He left out-of-town early in the day.  We missed him!

 Ashlyn and her cousin Bethany.

Gavin finishing his huge ice cream cone.

Yes, that is my son Liam.  He is crazy. :)

Gavin with his cousins, Bryce and David.

I also have a couple random pictures from my phone.  We have been hitting up some local splash pads to try and keep cool.  The kids have had fun even though the splash pads are crazy busy.

Cute pic of Ashlyn in my shoes!

Duck Creek 2013

And then on to the Andersen Family Reunion.  (The past three posts all occurred in a 2 week period.  We were home long enough to do to laundry, buy more food, and go to Day Camp) :) This reunion is for Nate's mom's side of the family.  There is a cabin down in Duck Creek, Utah (near Cedar City) that we all gather for the reunion.  Although we always rent our own cabin to sleep at to avoid the crowds at the family cabin. We had a great time fishing, hiking, and spending time with family.  The weather didn't cooperate the best.  We got rained on almost every afternoon.  So, we would have liked to have hiked and fished more, but had to hang out in our rented cabin instead.  We always look forward to our visit to Duck Creek.  It is beautiful and has so much wildlife around.

Doughnut eating contest for 5 and under. Ashlyn dives right in! :)

 For the older kids.

Ashlyn's fort that Nate built for her. :)

There was a sling shot at the cabin we rented so everyone took their turn shooting rocks.

The rented cabin.  It was awesome!

Ashlyn with her sweet cousin Eva.

One of the activities was a cake quilt.  The kids got to decorate cake squares and then they put them together like a quilt.  I think Gavin won the award for the most frosting and candy on his cake. Yuck!

These pictures are out of order, but on our way home we stopped at Nate's sisters house in Provo and had dinner.  Nate's other sister Kristin and her family came after driving across the country from Georgia.  They made the move to Utah!! We are so excited for them to be closer!
This is Ashlyn with Eva, Bryn, and Blake.

On our drive from Duck Creek we passed through Cedar Breaks National Park.  We made a quick stop to see the this beautiful place and grabbed a few pictures.

 Goofy!

Cub Scout Day Camp 2013

So this was my 3rd year of going to Cub Scout Day Camp.  Yes, I have been a Wolf Den Leader for over 3 years.  Luckily this year the weather was a little overcast so the heat wasn't unbearable.  We spent the day at Camp Kiesel.  I think all the boys has a great time.  I tried to get as many pictures of Gavin doing the activities because this is his last year going with me and going to Camp Kiesel.  Next year he will be a Webelo and they go to a different camp. :(  Anyway, here a few pics of the day.

 Getting ready for the boats!

Gavin with his boat crew. (That is not me in the boat with them.  I managed to try and cut my finger off the day before, so no water for me.)

 Doing the rope bridge.

 Getting ready for BB guns

Getting ready for Archery. (his favorite)

Some how I didn't get any pictures of me there.  I was awesome at the Archery even with my injured finger.  Hopefully another leader got me in some pics to prove it! :)

Bear Lake 2013

We had an awesome week at Bear Lake the first week in July.  It was the perfect week to be up there since it was so hot here at home.  It made the weather just perfect at the lake.  We spent the week fishing, swimming, playing games, golfing, swinging, rock painting and having fun together.  I tried to pick just a few pictures from the week, but still ended of with lots.  Here they are!

Liam caught his first fish.  Actually he caught two this day.  It was an answer to his prayer the night before where he prayed that someone would catch a fish when we were fishing. :)

Waiting for Uncle Brian's firework show on the 4th of July.

Because it was so warm the mud dried out enough to build mud castles at the end of the week.

 Cousins just hanging out.

Our family.  Don't mind that we look like we've been camping for a week. (Nate unshaven and me without make-up or my hair done.)

 Ashlyn with her cousin Thomas.

 Eating La Beau's shakes. Yum!

Ashlyn and her cousin Bethany playing in the sand.

 Nate was apparently tired. :)

Me with my cute nephew Matthew.

Liam with a photo bomb by my nephew Colin. ;)

 The tree swing!

 All the grandchildren.

Nate during the men's early morning golf game.

And last but not least, the not so great part of the week.  Nate lost his wedding ring, again.  Yep, now we have been through two wedding rings.  Some of the family played a game of softball at the Garden City park.  Nate made an error during the game and jokingly threw down his mitt and his ring went flying off.  We combed the park for hours, but never found it. :(  Guess we will just get a $20 ring at Walmart now. :)
