June 9, 2012-Day 6
After 4 days of Disney World we decided it was time to head to the beach and get some rest and relaxation. We packed up and headed toward Clearwater Beach. We did have to stop at Downtown Disney so Gavin could pick out his last souvenir. Then it was on to the beach. The weather was perfect the whole time we were at Clearwater. I'm pretty sure we could have stayed there for the rest of the summer.
Gavin and Liam in front of our Orlando Hotel/Villa. I forgot to get pictures of the inside. It was like an apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, family room, kitchen, and even a washer and dryer it was wonderful! Many thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Kohl for letting us use some of their timeshare for our trip!
Downtown Disney.
So many cool things built entirely out of Legos.
Ashlyn with her princesses.
Our first stop when we got to Clearwater was our favorite fish spot, Frenchys. The grouper sandwich is SO good! We all enjoyed some fresh seafood and then headed to the Hotel to get some beach time in.
June 10, 2012-Day 7
We got up and head to the Tampa Aquarium. It was a nice place, but probably not worth the price we paid. The kids enjoyed seeing all the different fresh and salt water creatures. Gavin's favorite was the big tank that had with all the fish, sharks, and sea turtles. Sadly we only took one picture at the Aquarium. After the aquarium we stopped at a breakfast place for Lunch/dinner. A guy made the kids some balloon hats while we waited to eat. We spent the rest of the day at the beach.
Ashlyn the crab.
Lenny's for lunch!
The Beach! Yes, Nate is really that white! :)
June 11, 12, 2012- Days 8 and 9
We spent almost the entire day, both days, at the beach. We built many sand creations, found lots of shells, and saw many different sea creatures (including dolphins). The water was super warm and the sun was shining. It was beautiful. We all managed to avoid sunburns except for the kids eyes. I couldn't get them to keep their sun glasses on. I really think I could live near the beach and be happy for the rest of my life!
The view from the pier.
Beautiful sunset!
Ashlyn loved being in the water, so Nate took her out often to ride the waves.
Our cabana.
The pool at our hotel was great too. The kids got plenty of swimming in on this trip.
The view of the pool and some of the hotel.
June 13, 2012-Day 10
We didn't fly home until the evening of the 13th so we spent the day driving back to Orlando. We had to stop and eat at a place Nate saw on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Then we went and saw the Orlando Temple. It was beautiful! We also went back to Downtown Disney to kill some time before we needed to get to the airport.
Danny's All American Diner as seen on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Good, Big sandwiches.
The Orlando Temple. I loved all the palm trees around it. It was so beautiful!
Downtown Disney, again. I think we got our fill of Disney for awhile!
We had a great trip! It is hard to be home and get back to reality, but such is life. Can't wait for our next vacation!!
