Now onto other great things such as my new food storage room!! Nate spent this last week building shelves in our cold storage room. It looks awesome and now I have tons of shelf space for our food storage. It just so happens that all the case-lot sales are going on now, so I am stocking up a lot more that I use to because I actually have room to store it all. The great thing is that we still have tons of room to fill, so maybe now I can actually get a year supply of everything. Thank you to my sweet husband for building the shelves so we can follow the counsel of the Prophet and be prepared! (Don't I have an awesome husband?!) :)

1 Hour and Food Storage
Before I get to my awesome new food storage room, I have to comment on a first today. Today for the first time in a LONG time I found myself with a whole hour all to myself. (Gavin and Liam at school, Ashlyn sleeping) No kids asking me for a snack, for help with a toy, to watch t.v., etc.. Nor did I have to nag kids to clean up toys, quit fighting, and leave your sister alone! (That one is mostly for Liam). I had a whole hour to myself today and I didn't have a clue what to do. When it came to it I couldn't figure out what I should do first. Should I clean the house, do laundry, update my blog, organize my pictures and video, mow the lawn, start a craft project? Instead I relaxed, watered my garden, and blogged. :) It was a most wonderful hour of silence. If this trend continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays maybe I will be able to keep my sanity!

Yeah for food storage!!! And case lot sales! We finished our cold storage earlier this year (I'll admit I made Russ dry wall, paint, etc. it!) and it was SO fun to put food on the shelves! Your shelves look fabulous!
The crazy thing is that even with all that food in store you'll still find yourself wracking your brain to come up with a meal plan every evening. It looks super and we'll come and see it in person soon.
I'm completely jealous of your food storage room...those just don't exist here, unless you build one yourself, or happen to move into a house where mormon's used to live who built one. I looks awesome!
And I hear ya on alone time. I trade owen off every other week and get 2 hours to myself then...I cherish that time (although it will be ending all too soon)!
So, so, so very jealous of your cold storage room. We felt pretty innovative with our pantry, which is unheard of here in "the mission field"... They don't have case lot sales here either...so very jealous! :) Enjoy!
I, too, am coveting such a wonderful place to store food. We don't have basements here, which I am also coveting. And hurray for nap time!
wonderful. Your shelfs are awesome . . . good job Nate! Doesn't it feel like such an accomplishment to fill those shelves, and be organized?
Naptime is wonderful!
