Ashlyn's Skills

Here is some quick video of Ashlyn showing off her moving skills. Sorry if it takes forever to load the video to watch it. This is the first video I have ever put on our blog and I don't really know what I am doing. Anyways, Ashlyn is so close to crawling and I'm not sure we're ready for it. She has figured out the legs thing, but doesn't understand that she needs to move her arms too. Ashlyn is six months old this week. Time is flying!

1 Hour and Food Storage

Before I get to my awesome new food storage room, I have to comment on a first today. Today for the first time in a LONG time I found myself with a whole hour all to myself. (Gavin and Liam at school, Ashlyn sleeping) No kids asking me for a snack, for help with a toy, to watch t.v., etc.. Nor did I have to nag kids to clean up toys, quit fighting, and leave your sister alone! (That one is mostly for Liam). I had a whole hour to myself today and I didn't have a clue what to do. When it came to it I couldn't figure out what I should do first. Should I clean the house, do laundry, update my blog, organize my pictures and video, mow the lawn, start a craft project? Instead I relaxed, watered my garden, and blogged. :) It was a most wonderful hour of silence. If this trend continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays maybe I will be able to keep my sanity!

Now onto other great things such as my new food storage room!! Nate spent this last week building shelves in our cold storage room. It looks awesome and now I have tons of shelf space for our food storage. It just so happens that all the case-lot sales are going on now, so I am stocking up a lot more that I use to because I actually have room to store it all. The great thing is that we still have tons of room to fill, so maybe now I can actually get a year supply of everything. Thank you to my sweet husband for building the shelves so we can follow the counsel of the Prophet and be prepared! (Don't I have an awesome husband?!) :)

First Day of Preschool

Today was Liam's first day of preschool. He was so excited. He has been asking everyday since Gavin started school when it was time for him to go to schoo. He was very brave and walked right in with no tears. I didn't even cry because I was thinking about everything I can get done while both Gavin and Liam are in school!! :)

Labor Day Weekend

We got to go up to Bear Lake for one last time this past weekend. It was just the perfect getaway. The weather wasn't the best (when compared to the middle of July) but it was just what we needed. We had time at the beach and relaxation at the cabin. Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

The beautiful full moon

Ashlyn's first time in the water. It's cold!!

Ashlyn's bonnet fit her a month and a half ago. I guess she is growing fast! :)

Liam in the hammock

Gavin on the rope swing! This is his favorite activity at the cabin!

We caught a snake and Gavin wanted a picture of him holding the snake! Yuck!

Typical Liam.

Nate digging another monstrous hole for the boys to play in.

Playing in the sand. Of course they didn't look at the camera.

A New Seat

I had heard about these Bumbo seats for quite awhile and thought it would be fun to have one for Ashlyn. I found them online and in the stores but they retailed for $50! For how long it will actually get used, I didn't think it was worth the price, so I went on ebay and won a seat for cheap. Now I won't feel guilty when she can sit up on her own and doesn't need it anymore. The boys just had to have their pictures take with Ashlyn in her new seat!
