Holiday Weekend

I just LOVE 3 day weekends! I guess what I really love is having Nate home for more than 2 days. We started off the weekend by getting our garage shelves done. Nate got off work early Friday so we got them painted and fill them with our junk. We were very happy to discover that we don't have enough junk yet to completely fill them up. I'm sure in a few years they will be packed with junk. Nate did a great job on them, and I am so happy to have a clean, organized garage. (plus, we got our water barrels filled, so we won't die of thirst in an emergency! :) ) On Saturday we got up and went to a ward breakfast and then headed to the zoo. It was a perfect day for the zoo. We got there early enough to avoid the crowds that came later, and the weather was not too hot and not too cold. The boys loved seeing all the animals, but were most excited to see all the snakes. We saved the small animal exhibit for last. I believe it was the highlight of our zoo visit. We came home with two new stuffed animal snakes. (As if we didn't have enough snakes in our house already) Sunday was a nice relaxing day. We enjoyed a visit from Aunt Shelley in the afternoon and then we to the Farmington cemetery in the evening to see my Hess relatives that are buried there. Monday was spent doing our traditional Memorial Day stuff. We went to the Clearfield Cemetery to see my mom's side relatives that are buried there and then it was on to a park for some KFC for lunch and some fun park playing. We did manage to BBQ on Sunday and Monday so Nate felt like it was a successful Memorial Day weekend. Now I say, let summer begin!! :)

I'm totally jealous of the shelves...I need some more! And as far as I'm concerned...summer is here!

Did you say you actually SAW those who are buried in Farmington?!? I wish I had been there. Beautiful Shelves. Pat Nate on the back.

I made sure to add that we saw the relatives that were BURIED at each cemetery to specify that we didn't actually see our ancestors although that would have been cool! :)

What fun! I was talking to Little One about his "summer school" activities I'm planning, and he told me it's still Spring. =) I love when things are organized. Your shelves look great. where did you get your water barrels? We have yet to fill ours.

Gotta love the zoo, too!
