Second Half of June...

I am amazed at how fast June went by but then I started to look at the pictures of everything we did and I can see why it went so fast!
We spent a Friday afternoon at 'This is the Place Heritage Park' on Huntsman day because it was FREE!!  We have never been so it was fun to see what was there and we went with cousins which always makes things fun!

Ashlyn had her first ballet recital.  She was an orange crayon. (There were crayons of every color in the recital)  It was a crazy week with 2 rehearsals and 1 performance all up at Weber State in Ogden. We even managed to get her hair into a teeny tiny bun.  I loved every minute of it as I relived the 9 years I spent performing in the Clytie Adams Ballet recital every June.  I was able to see some of my teachers and loved watching the beautiful ballet.  Ashlyn did an awesome job on her dance.  She enjoyed it enough to want to keep taking lessons in the Fall.  Just wish it was closer to our house!! :)

After we got the ballet recital over with we chopped Ashlyn's hair off.  She (and mom) are happy to have it short again!

The end of June was spent with the Kohl extended family.  Nate's sister Anna and her kids flew here from Chicago so we had a whirlwind few days trying to spend as much time with them as we could.  I borrowed some of the pictures from Anna. This was a fun splash pad in Highland!

July is already in full swing!  Posts to come after all the reunions!

First half of June...Summer is flyin' by...

The summer is already half over and we've tried to pack in as much fun as we can. Here's how we spent the month of June!
Right after the kid were out of school we headed up to Bear Lake for a few days.  Usually it's cold and rainy the first part of June, but this time it turned out warm and beautiful.  The kids had a great time playing in the sand and water.  They didn't care one bit that the water was freezing!  I sat on the beach in my jacket and tried to stay warm while they played.  It was a great way to start the summer!

Heaven...I think.

We also spent the first part of June going to Liam's baseball games.  He insisted on trying baseball for the first time this year.  I was worried he would be behind the other boys since he has never played but he did a great job and actually had an in the park homerun at one of his games.  It was the highlight of our June for Liam to hit the homerun.  :)

Liam also had his first Pinewood Derby.  Nate and Liam worked on the car together and came up with a pretty sweet car.  Nate had to be out of town on the actually race day so we could have made a few weight adjustments to help the car go faster, but I don't know anything about derby cars and was no help.  (It's a dad thing for sure).  Liam's car got 2nd and 3rd in all 4 races it was in.  It was awesome!

More of the month of June to come....
