Skiing and Scouts

Even though we have been having Spring-like weather in February we are still trying to take advantage of the ski season.  We spent a Saturday up at Snowbasin.  Nate wanted to get Ashlyn on the slopes to try out skiing.  She had so much fun that she cried when we told her she had to be done. :) We also took up Gavin's best buddy Dylan so the boys went off and skied together while Nate worked with Ashlyn.  I hung out in the (warm) lodge and people-watched by the fire.

Our pack meeting this month was the blue and gold banquet.  Gavin received his arrow of light.  The final badge of cub scouts!  I am still trying to figure out how he already is going to be 11 in April. :( Now we move on to boy scouts.  A whole new ball game.

We will never be able to take this kid seriously.  He is such a goof!

Most of the Webelos den.  These were all my boys when I was a wolf leader.  Where does the time go?

They do a ceremony for those getting their arrow of light and yes, there were 7 boys getting it that night.  Crazy.

Getting pinned!

Walking over the bridge to boy scouts.

Gavin with Dylan.  Best friends getting their arrow of light badge together!

January is over!

I always find it funny that there is so much to blog about from August (start of school) until the new year, but then we hit January and life seems so boring! Sadly, I hardly have any pictures of January.  It doesn't mean we've been hiding in our house the whole month, it just means we have been living life with not anything really exciting going on.  I was surprised how fast January went by.  Usually it drags on forever.  Maybe the fact that we didn't have snow on the ground and that is has been mild and sunny helped!
We spent January trying to get back into our routine of having Nate gone for work.  It's always hard after having him home the whole month of December, but such is life.  Nate and the boys got some skiing in, but it hasn't been great because of the lack of snow.  I had to get my eyes checked out after having some blurriness issues and have since had to quit wearing my contacts and got new glasses.  I have a Rx of drops to hopefully solve my eye issue and should be back into contacts in a few weeks.  Such a roller coaster.
The most excitement came at the end of January with my Dad celebrating his 70th birthday!  I am still in shock that he is 70 because he still seems like the dad he was when I was growing up.  He has aged well. :) We had a fun birthday party for him on Sunday.
Now we are on to February still with no snow and very warm weather.  So, my flowers have decided to come up really early.  I just hope it doesn't turn cold and snow on them! It sure feels like March not February!
