First Day of School 2014!!

We had our first day of school on August 18th! But first here are a few pictures of some things the week before.  Ashlyn started ballet.  I'm not sure who is more excited, me or her.  I am driving her to Kaysville once a week to go to the ballet studio where I danced for almost 9 years.  Ashlyn even has one of the teachers I had.  It is awesome!  I am hoping she will develop of love for ballet like I did.  We also started her at a gymnast facility to help her get some energy out and work on her flexibility and coordination!! :)

We went to Pack Meeting after having not been for a few months and both my boys got tons of awards.  I am so proud of all the work they did over the summer.

Gavin got his Webelos Badge.  Pretty awesome for only being in for 4 months.  Now we just have to finish everything for his Arrow of Light.

Finally, on to the first day of school.  Not sure we were ready for it.  The summer went by fast.  The kids seemed excited and enjoyed their first week.  I miss them when they are at school.  I am one of those weird moms that likes having my kids around. :)

Hard to believe my Ashlyn is already in kindergarten.  She was VERY ready!

It always helps to have your best friend in your class at school!!

Lagoon 2014

We made the annual trip to Lagoon at the end of July.  It was turned out to be a perfect day for the adventure.  The weather was cooler and there was not very many people there which meant the lines for rides were short.  The other bonus was that Nate was in town so he got to go with us!  I mostly have pictures of Liam and Ashlyn.  They were riding buddies! Gavin was off with Nate doing the bigger rides.  We went with my brother Brian and his family so the kids got to spend time with their cousins.  It was a fun day!

Nate looks concerned, but I don't think the ride was too scary for him. :)

Ponies and Puzzles

Ashlyn may or may not have an addiction problem.  She loves (is addicted to) My Little Pony just a bit too much.  We spent sometime organizing all of her ponies for a picture.  Pretty sure she has over 100. Yikes!! It doesn't help that I am a sucker for buying her the little ponies.  We have been using them as her reward for reading lately which has worked well, but it does keep adding to the mounds of ponies we already have!

Ashlyn spent a morning last month putting together puzzles.  She does a great job doing them all by herself.  Of course she wanted a picture of the completed group!

Kohl Family Reunion 2014

I can't remember if I have ever mentioned in previous posts that Nate's parents are living in Utah now.  They moved out here in December of 2013.  They are currently renting a house in Saratoga Springs while they build a house close by.  With that preface, we had our first Kohl Reunion in July.  We rented a cabin in Huntsville Utah for a few days.  It was the first time that all the Kohls have been together for a VERY long time. (two brothers had been on missions the past two years)  It is hard to get everyone together when some live in different states and there are 8 kids in the family but we did it!
Anyway, it was a great few days full of fun, games, sun, beach, water and hiking. Sadly, I don't have pictures of our day at the beach or our hike, but they were great fun!
We started the reunion off with dinner at our home because Nate's brother Jordan couldn't make it to the cabin because of work.  We were able to grab some family pictures and enjoy a fun evening all together.

 All the grandkids.

Grandma and Grandpa Kohl with their Grandkids.

The 'Hot Tub' at the cabin.

The kids all made tie-dye shirts as an activity.  Tons of fun!

 Of course we made S'mores.
