The many faces of Ashlyn-Preschool Graduation

As I have mentioned in previous posts Ashlyn has been in a neighborhood preschool this year.  It has been a good experience for both of us.  Ashlyn has been able to become friends with 9 other boys and girls her age and I was stretched by learning to teach the kids for a few weeks throughout the year.  Last week we had a little graduation program.  It was a little silly to do it this year since Ashlyn has another year of preschool ahead of her, but it was a nice end to the year and a fun way to show off what we taught the kids this year.  Ashlyn knew the words to every song they sang and did a great job singing! Nate was the photographer and managed to mostly capture the many silly faces of our Ashy.  This girl is full of personality!!

I got to ask her a few questions about the past school year.  She gave some pretty good answers! :)

Ashlyn with her best friend Claire.  They are only two weeks apart in age and have been playmates since they were two!

She is only 4, what can you expect. :)

 Ready to "walk".

My graduate!  Now on to a fun summer, although Ashlyn is VERY excited to go to her new preschool in August!

From Cumorah's Hill

Our Stake decided to do a Stake Play this year and my good friend was in charge of it, so we volunteered to help out in any way that we could.  The play/musical we were a part of was, "From Cumorah's Hill".  Nate and I ended up being in the 40 person choir.  We had to go to practices every Saturday for a few months.  The kids were able to be a part of the 3rd Nephi scene where Christ visits the American Continent.  It ended up being quite a time commitment, but was well worth it.  The production turned out great.  I think even our kids were glad that we had participated even after a 4 hour rehearsal.  :) We only managed to get a couple pictures during the whole process.  It was a great experience for our whole family!

The boys after our final performance with some of the prophet actors in the background.  (The costumes for some of them were awesome!)

J & J nursery Field Trip and Golf

We went on Ashlyn's last preschool field trip to a local nursery.  The kids got see and learn about a lot of plants that the nursery carries and then they got to pick out a plant to take home and feed the Koi fish.  Ashlyn and I had already been to J & J nursery a few times to get flowers and garden plants for our yard, but she still was happy to go again with her friends.  We have enjoyed doing a neighborhood preschool this year.  Ashlyn has lots of close friends to play with this summer, but she is very much looking forward to going to a 'real' preschool in the Fall.

We were missing two friends that day.

Showing off her plant.

Summer must be coming because the boys are ready to golf.  We just finished a week of golf lessons.  Once summer is here the boys are signed up to play a round a golf once a week with kids their age. They are VERY excited.  Here are a few pictures I took of them practicing at the driving range during their lessons.

Gavin is 9!

How in the world did Gavin get to be 9 years old?!!!  I am still in shock about it and his birthday was weeks ago.  Yep, Gavin turned 9 on April 23rd.  He went to school, but we got him out early as a special birthday treat.  We went to Get Air (a trampoline place), had pizza for dinner, and played games.  Overall I think he enjoyed his birthday.  Gavin wanted a Mario theme for his birthday so Nate made him an awesome Mario cake.  Everything was great, other than Nate injured his neck and shoulder at the trampoline place.  He was trying to be younger than he is and ended up falling and landing wrong on his neck/shoulder.  Anyway, it really was a great day.  We are so glad to have Gavin in our family!
