Ski Utah

A few years ago Nate decided he wanted to try skiing.  He had a day of lessons from a good teacher and has been skiing ever since.  Nate was very sad that he never got to ski last year because we never had enough snow, so soon as the snow started falling in December he was ready to go.  He went skiing once and decided that he wanted to invest in his own skis so he bought himself all new ski stuff for Christmas and manage to go skiing again during the Christmas break.  At this point Nate decided that he wanted the boys to learn to ski too.  I was able to convince Nate to just start with Gavin, so he signed him up.  Gavin has been to 3 of his 4 lessons and is doing awesome!  We didn't know how he would respond to it all, but he has been very enthusiastic and determined to be a good skier.  Now I guess I need to get back up on the slopes even though it has been MANY years since I last skied.  If you live in Utah I guess you have to learn to ski to have something to make the winter go by more quickly! :)

The Fish

We have been the proud owners of about 9 fish in the last 8 or 9 months.  Some have only lasted a few days others a few months.  I'm not sure why we keep buying them other than I have guilt about having spent the money on an aquarium, rocks, a plant, a fish hideout, fish food, water conditioner, filters, etc.  If we have all the stuff we might as well have fish, right?  Anyway we were down to one fish for a couple months and he seemed pretty lonely.  He would sit in the fish hideout the whole time unless it was time to eat.  I took the kids to the pet store last Friday to let them each pick out a fish.  We now had 4 fish.  The next morning we woke up to about 30 fish!  Yes, one of the fish we bought the day before was apparently VERY pregnant.  We all had a good laugh about it, but now I'm thinking we are crazy because we have 30+ (we have not yet been able to count them all) fish in our little aquarium.  Needless to say we definitely got our moneys worth.  I paid for 3 fish and ended up with 30!  Oh, and Spike LOVES to sit and watch the fish.  Of course he tries to get them but can't! :)
There is no way to catch a picture of these new baby fish because they are very tiny.  We'll see how long they survive.
