Thanksgiving 2013

We hosted Thanksgiving this year.  We had about 30 family members from both of our families over.  It was so great!!  Everything went smoothly and we had both yummy oven cooked and slow smoked turkey for our meal.  I think the pictures show our day!

Thank you to my sister who took all the pictures!  She wanted to test out our camera so she went around capturing the events of the day.  I never had a chance to think about taking pictures so I am so glad she did!!

Liam's 8th Birthday and Baptism Day!!

I am so behind on updating our blog.  I decided I better at least finish posting about November before Christmas day.  :)  Liam had his birthday the 23rd and then was baptized on November 30th.  We had a weekend of fun with Thanksgiving and his baptism just days apart.  Liam has been waiting forever to turn 8.  He was so excited to start cub scouts and get baptized.  We sure love having Liam in our family!

November-The birthday month!

I know I said I would post more pics of Halloween, but there wasn't really much else too it.  The kids had fun trick or treating and brought home TONS of candy.  We will still be eating it at Christmas.  November has been super crazy.  It is hard to believe it is almost over.  Are you ready for birthday overload?  We celebrated my birthday, Nate's birthday and Liam's birthday.  We also have pictures of various activities that happened this month.  I guess the reason November flew by was because we were busy!!

Ashlyn is in a dance/tumble class.  I took a couple pictures recently of her at class.  She loves it!!

I had a another birthday.  I am getting old and I have goofy kids.

 Nate also had another birthday.  He is old too. (but not as old as me!)

We are also painting!!  We are changing the upstairs to match the basement. Which means we are painting all the dark trim and doors white and the ceilings white.  In the process we are changing wall colors too.  We have already done our bedroom and the office.  Now on to the rest of the upstairs! (maybe after the holidays) :) Here are some pictures of the office before and after. The pictures don't do the changes justice, so believe me when I say they are great!!

Nate got tickets to see Michael Buble for my birthday.  It was a really fun concert, but we learned that we are not party animals anymore.  Staying up late and getting up early the next morning were torture. :)

Ashlyn spent another afternoon organizing her my little ponys.  She wanted to get a picture of her with all of them set up. 

Now on to Liam's birthday and baptism!! Being 8 is great!

A Little Bit of Everything

So I didn't really know what to put as a title for this post because I am throwing most of September and the first part of October into one post.  Apparently we have been busy and I haven't had a chance to put anything on the blog for a while.  So this is going to be a VERY random post with lots of different happenings. (and lots of pictures)

It's football season so we are sporting our BYU cougar gear around the house.  Especially on game day!

We went to a BYU football game with my family at the end of September.  It was cold, but fun.  We always pick this game to go to because it is on a Friday.  The past two years we have been in short sleeves, but this year we were bundle up like it was winter.  I prefer the warm games over the cold. :)

 This was an excursion to Toys R Us.  Ashlyn found the Pinkie Pie pony and carried it all around the store.  Luckily she didn't throw a fit when we told her we were not going to buy it.

 I didn't take this picture, but apparently Gavin got someone to show his completed puzzle. 

We got a day of this week from school so I took the kids on the Frontrunner train down to Salt Lake.  We went to the planetarium, the gateway, city creek, and temple square.  Lucky for us Nate was in town and met us down there for a few hours.  The weather was perfect so it was a great way to spend the day.

Our school had a 5k during September.  Gavin and Nate ran the 5k and Liam did the 1 mile.  I had to volunteer so I didn't get to run this year.  Below is the only picture I got from the night.  Gavin did well for his grade.  Nate finished 2nd in his age group.  It was a great night!

 Ashlyn and I went on her first preschool field trip to the fire station.  We had a great time!

Finally, Ashlyn called me into her room one day because she wanted me to take her picture with her My Little Pony collection.  She had set them all up on her dresser.  I think she is just a little obsessed with My Little Pony. :)
