School is Out!!

Friday was our last day of school!  I don't know if me or the boys are more excited about school being out. I think I am most excited about being done with kindergarten.  It will be nice to have Liam in school all day and not have all the extra driving to do.  The boys both had great teachers this year and made a lot of really good friends.  Both boys are reading high above their grade levels and came out with all A's every semester. I am so glad they inherited their Dad's smart genes.  We are all so ready for summer and no schedule, but most of all we are eagerly getting ready for our trip to Florida the first week of June!

Field Day

The boys had their school field day last Monday.  Nate got to go and help with Gavin's class.  Ashlyn and I went in the afternoon to take some pictures.  This year was a Dr. Seuss theme.  Every class had to pick a book.  Liam's class did "If I ran the Circus" so they made shirts with circus pictures on them.  Liam is lucky to have an artistic Dad so Nate created Liam's shirt in no time at all.  Gavin's class chose "Oh say can you say"  They didn't do shirts, but had a great cheer and banner. It was a perfect day for field day.  We almost hit 90 degrees, but the kids didn't care because they were wet and having fun!

I thought Nate was taking pictures of Gavin in the morning, but he only took a few so this is one of them. The rest I took when I came in the afternoon.

Proof that Nate was their with Gavin. :)

Liam all wet and having fun!

The highlight for everyone is the big slip-n-slide.  This is Liam going down it!

First Pack Meeting

We attended our first Pack meeting as a family about a week ago. (I've been going to them by myself for a year)  Gavin worked hard and earned his Bobcat in time to receive it at Pack meeting.  So far Gavin loves scouts or just love hanging with all the boys his age in our neighborhood.  We have 15 boys in our Wolf den now and it is tons of fun (and work)!  The pictures are out of order with the first being that last and last being the first.  But you get the idea anyway.

Waiting to get his award.

New Niece

We got to go and see our newest niece Eva on Sunday.  She is adorable.  The boys wouldn't have anything to do with holding her, but Ashlyn loved it!!  She wanted to hold her forever, but I finally stole Eva away because I wanted to hold her too!!  Funny how girls are so different than boys when it comes to things like babies!  Glad we got to see beautiful Eva.  Congrats to my sis-in-law Shelley and her husband Rob!

Liam can ride!

Liam can finally ride his two wheel bike!!  We gave Liam a new bike for Christmas and he finally decided to learn to ride it.  He actually learned a few weeks ago but I just barely got around to taking some pictures of him riding.  He loves to go out and ride everyday after he gets back from school.  I'm just glad he finally decided to learn so he can ride all summer!  (on a side note, Nate and I just bought bikes last weekend so now we can go on family bike rides! yay!)

I had to include some pictures of Ashlyn and her best friend Claire.  They are only two weeks apart in age and are great friends (with a few fights here and there, but that's normal, they're girls!) :)

Best Buddies!

Gavin's Baptism

This last Saturday was Gavin's baptism.  It was such a special day.  I am so proud of Gavin and this step he chose to take.  We managed to get a few pictures of the day. Enjoy!

 Gavin with Nate.

Everyone who came to support Gavin.

 Our family.

Gavin with (most of) his grandparents.  We were lucky enough to have Nate's mom out here for the baptism, but we missed having Grandpa Kohl here too.

Cub Scouts!

Since Gavin is now 8 he gets to be in Cub Scouts!!  He was so excited to finally be able to go to den meeting and actually be a scout.  (He has been going with me off and on for the past year, but never really participated) I am so happy to have him in my Wold den.  We are up to about 15 boys now which is a little crazy, but also very fun!  Hooray for our newest Cub Scout!

Goodbye, Passat

One of the nice perks of Nate's in job is that they bought him a new company car for his travels.  He now has a silver Ford Fusion.  It is a nice car.  With that perk we were able to sell Nate's old car, his Passat.  We posted it on KSL and immediately Nate's phone started to ring.  He ended up having over 50 voicemail/texts.  Guess we should have put the price higher!! :)  We were able to sell it to a family from Evaston for their son to use at college.  I tried to get Nate to pose with his car, but he refused.  He was glad to see it go.  It has been a good car, but it has also had its problems here and there.  However, it is in pretty good condition for being 8 years old.  With some of the money from selling his car we were able to finish paying of my car, so for the first time in our marriage we have no car payments!! SO nice!!  Here are a few pictures I took of the car when we posted it to be sold. Goodbye Passat!
