February Happenings

Just to update a little, here are a few pictures from February. I had to take a picture of Ashlyn last Sunday before church. She just looked cute. Grandma Kohl gave her the cute skirt and blouse for Christmas and we added the cute hand-me-down sweater. Gavin had another book report due last month, but this one had to be non-fiction, so he chose to do it on a book about snakes. Surprise, huh?! :) The rest of the pictures are from the finishing of our basement. The framing is done. We had the HVAC and plumbers here this week. This next week the electrical should be done. Then it's on to insulation and drywall. We can't wait for it to be all done, but realize we have to have patience waiting for the workers to be done.

Such a cute girl!

Gavin made a poster to go with his book report. Here it is!

Our New Project

This week we started a new adventure for us, finishing our basement! We are so excited to finally be doing it and can't wait for all the extra space. The framers have been here for a couple days and are making great progress. I will try and post pictures with all the progress. Hopefully in a month or two we will have a newly finished basement giving us more space to run around and more room for storage! :)

Once there was a tipping snowman...

After a little snow storm last Tuesday Liam and I went out and built a snowman. The snow melted quickly and so did the snowman, but through it all somehow he has managed to stay together. I ran out this morning (a week later) and took these pictures of our tipping snowman. We cannot believe that his head hasn't fallen off. I guess Liam and I built a strong snowman! :)

Grandpa Hess Birthday/Retirement

We had a birthday/retirement party for my Dad on Sunday the 30th. His birthday was actually yesterday the 31st which also happened to be his last day of work with Davis County. I grabbed some pictures of him opening his birthday presents and then his retirement present (a new putter). It was a great celebration. I sure love my Dad and I am so grateful for him. There was also an article in our local paper the Standard Examiner about my Dad last week.
We are excited for him and his new retired future!
