October 2010-Part 5 and still not the end!

I promise there will only be one more October post after this one. (I have to post pictures of Halloween) It sure seems like things are getting busy even before it is the holiday season. It finally got cold this week and tried to snow yesterday. I'm not really ready for the cold, but will tolerate it as long as it means we get into the holiday season soon! We had to pack in the pumpkin carving and cookie making into one day because Nate left out of town for the week again. I can't wait for the traveling to be done for this year, and that won't happen until the first week of December. Anyways, Here are a few things we have been up to in the past week.

Bat Boy! Liam made this at Preschool and I thought it was so cute!

I love my husband posing for the camera!

Our decorated cookies. Yum!

Ashlyn loves to say cheese every time I turn the camera on! Love that smile.

Cleaning the 'guts' out of our pumpkins.

Yes, she did actually stick the knife into the pumpkin. She just wanted to be part of the action.

Gavin and Liam's finished products.

All the pumpkins!

Pumpkins in the dark. Spooky!

Most of the family with the pumpkins.

Liam had his preschool Halloween party today. They do a little parade at the end of class to show off their costumes. This is a picture of his class. Liam is the pirate in the back.

October 2010-Part 4

On Saturday of our Fall Break we decided to go down to Provo and visit Nate's brothers and sister. We went up to Vivian Park to hike around and see the beautiful fall leaves. We have great memories of going up to Vivian park and roasting brats and marshmallows when we were dating. We also went to BYU campus and walked around. I always feel so old when I visit the campus because I realize how long its been since I was a student there. After our BYU stop we went to dinner at the Bombay House. It was good food, but the company was even better. Thanks Shelley, Rob, Jordan and Todd for hanging out with us.

Walking on the path.

Silly pictures of my kids.

More silliness!

October 2010-Part 3

As I said earlier it was our Fall Break last weekend, so Nate decided to take Friday off. We spent the whole day together as a family having fun. We went to lunch and did some shopping and then went bowling. The boys did awesome (with the help of the bumpers). I am happy to say that I beat everyone the first game, but then sad to say that I lost to everyone on the second game. I guess I just got to tired to throw the ball straight down the lane. We ended our fun day by making doughnuts (a Fall tradition) and also caramel apples (which didn't turn out). :( I didn't get any pictures of our treat making, but it was lots of fun. Here are a few pictures of our bowling.

Nate in bowling action.

Ashlyn the cheerleader! She loved watching the balls go down the lane.

Gavin with his running start.

Liam also with a running start. (the reason for the blurriness)

October 2010-Part 2

This weekend was our 'Fall Break'. We didn't go on a vacation so we tried to do some fun things to make it a fun break. My mom and I took the kids down to a place called Gardner Village. It is a cute little shopping place that is really decorated for Halloween. They put of all kinds of witches throughout the shopping area, all doing different things. Anyways, the kids had a great time finding the different witches (we did a sort of witch scavenger hunt). Here are a few pics of our afternoon.

The kids in front of a pumpkin house.

Sitting with one of the witches. Gavin would not sit any closer. I think she gave him the creeps!

Me and the kids with another witch and the really bright sun!

October 2010-Part 1

This is the first of a few posts that will come this month. I am sort of behind with what we have up to this month so this is just the beginning of our October happenings. First off, last Saturday I got to have an afternoon away from the kids to visit with some of my old (yes we're old!) BYU roommates. It had been awhile since we were all together, but it was just like old times. We were missing one roommate who lives to far away to make it. It was great to see these girls. They are awesome women and moms!

Next are some pictures of Liam's preschool field trip to Black Island Farms. We have gone the past three years, first with Gavin and then two times with Liam. It is lots of fun and best of all Liam gets to pick out a pumpkin from one of their many pumpkin patches. Here are few pictures of our adventure.

Sitting by some pumpkins.

One picture with Ashlyn looking at the camera and one with Liam looking. :)

The guy that drove the tractor for our 'hayride' dug up some carrots on the farm for everyone. Ashlyn couldn't wait for us to get back and wash the carrot off. I couldn't get her to put it down even for a picture! That girl loves her carrots!

Oh wait! I did get ONE picture without her eating the dirt covered carrot!

They had a little haystack maze for the kids to do. Ashlyn followed Liam all around. They had a great time.

On top of the hay maze

Finally Liam posing with his perfect pumpkin fresh from the pumpkin patch!

Little girls are so much fun!

Gotta love painting toenails and doing hair! Girls are so much fun!

The bow only lasted about 5 minutes, but at least I got pictures to show she wore a bow once! :)
