A (tiny) Ponytail

I thought that our little miracle today was worth posting so here it is. Ashlyn actually let me do her hair today!! Yes, it is a miracle. Now, she doesn't have much hair to do (thanks bald genes), but I was able to get a little, tiny ponytail on the top of her head. I tried to get some decent pictures of it, so we could document this momentous day. I also tried to get a bow into that little ponytail, but that was pushing it, so I will just settle for Ashlyn have her hair done today. Something that we had yet to accomplish so far in her life. Hope you can see the little ponytail. If not, you will have to take my word for it that it was adorable! :)

Oh, and a p.s. Next time we go to church Ashlyn will go to nursery! HOORAY!

Weekend at Bear Lake

It was my family's 3rd week (of the season) at Bear Lake this week, so we decided to take advantage of it and go up there for the weekend. It was a lot cooler than home, but we still had a great time. We spent Saturday morning on a beautiful hike where we saw many Fall colors in the trees. Even with the temperatures being cooler the boys still went to the beach and played in the sand and water. I was in pants and a jacket trying to keep warm. Even though it was short it was a great weekend get-a-away. Can't wait to go again next year!

Walking on the trail. You can see the Fall colors in the background. I wish my camera could capture the brilliance.

We were hiking on a mountain south of the lake. You can barely see the lake in the background.

More Fall colors

More Fall colors with a some great posing! :)

Beautiful Bear Lake in the background.

Playing with cousins in the cool weather!

Grandpa digging a hole for Liam and his cousin Lizzy.

Ashlyn hanging around the cabin. She really wanted to play tether ball!

Can you believe she is almost 18 months?!

Love this girl!

We have never been to Bear Lake this late in the season so I had to get a picture of us watching college football at Bear Lake. It was great!!

First Day of Preschool

Liam had his first day of preschool on Wednesday. He has been waiting and waiting for preschool to start mainly because Gavin started 1st grade almost a month ago! Liam was so excited to go he was ready almost an hour early with backpack on an all! As much as I wish he could go to Kindergarten this year( he misses the deadline by 2 1/2 months) I'm sure he is going to have an awesome year at Preschool!

Soccer Pictures

As promised here are a few pictures of Liam playing soccer. He's #5. He has played pretty well so far. Some games better than others, but he did score a goal in his third game. He was so happy. I don't have any pictures of him with the ball because he doesn't really touch it too much during the games. The one goal he scored was sort of a, being in the right place at the right moment, goal. :) He still has a few more games to go, so I may get some better pictures, but here's what we have so far!

Labor Day

We had a great Labor Day weekend. We actually had a 4 day weekend because Nate took of Friday so he and I could have a day date. We started our date with a morning trip to the temple and then spent the afternoon shopping (really fun, I know), but it was nice to be together without the kids. We also ate at the Cheesecake Factory and had a nice walk around Mueller park. Thanks to my Mom for watching the kids in the morning and to my sister-in-law for watching the kids in the afternoon and evening. Of course I took my camera, but we didn't take any pictures! We did manage to get some pictures of our other weekend adventure which was our annual hike up Adam's Canyon. It was perfect weather for hiking and we had a great time. The boys both did really well with only a few scrapes and scratches from the hike. Ashlyn got to ride in the backpack the whole time and loved it! She actually fell asleep on our way down. I would have liked to have done that too! :) Anyways, here are a few pictures of our hike. Enjoy!

The boys on the first of many rocks. They insisted on climbing all the big rocks and having me take their picture.
Another big rock.

A close up on the rock.

A big tree on the trail and me with no make-up. :)

Nate and Ashlyn by the big tree.

Nate and the kids and the top of the trail.

Nate and Ashlyn at the waterfall.

Nate, Ashlyn, and Gavin at the waterfall. (Liam wouldn't get close to it)

Gavin thinking he is a rock climber.

A really BIG rock!

A close-up!

Heading down the trail.

Stopping to look closely at some cactus. Notice Ashlyn asleep, she looks dead. :)

The last big rock! We found it in the parking lot!

Soccer Liam

Liam started soccer a few weeks ago. He had a few a practices and finally had his first game last night. He was really excited to play soccer, but the excitement has gone a little bit over the last few weeks. Now we are just working on motivating (bribing) Liam to score a goal. Whether he plays hard or not, it is fun to watch him. I will try and get some pictures of his actual game and post them soon. Here are just a couple of him in his sweet green uniform!

The soccer picture pose! :)

Gotta love Green!
