Family Party

Since we had Gavin's Jungle party the day before his birthday we had a little family celebration on his actual birthday. Here is a couple pictures of the birthday boy!

It's a Jungle Party!!

Gavin got to have a birthday party for his 6th birthday so we decided to go with a Jungle Theme. We were able to hire a snake guy to come and bring seven snakes to show the kids and let them hold them. Gavin thought the party was awesome. We were hoping it would help him get over his desire to own a snake, but instead I think it fueled the fire even more. Yikes! (sorry some of the pictures are blurry)

Playing Games

Jungle Decorations! Nate did all of them of course. He is the talented one! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAVIN!!!

Six years ago today we were suppose to be attending Nate's BYU graduation but instead we became parents! (Don't worry Nate still graduated, he just didn't have to walk) :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAVIN!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

California 2010 Part 2 The Beach!!

O.k. So I forgot a few pictures from before Disneyland so here they are. Then onto the Beach!

Happy that the long drive is over.

The boys couldn't wait for a picture with palm trees.

Gavin was more excited to go to the Lego store at Downtown Disney than Disneyland itself, so we went there the first night just to get it out of his system.

They loved all the figures made out of Legos.

Now onto the Beach! We stayed at Huntington Beach for two days. The first day was perfect. It was sunny, warm, and not to crowded. The second day was a little cooler and windy so we didn't spend as much time at the beach, but instead swam at the heated pool at the hotel! Gavin spent most of the time in the water at the beach. He just loved the waves and found a bunch of shells that we just had to bring home! :)

This is where Nate and Gavin spent most of their time...in the water. (the water was quite cold so I don't know how they did it)

Ashlyn LOVED playing in the sand. It only took two handfuls in her mouth and she quit trying to eat it. It was great! (Don't ya love the blue sky?)

WOW! Liam sure is white! (He takes after his Grandpa Hess!) :)

He looks thrilled. He wanted to get back in the water.

California 2010 Part 1 Disneyland!!

WARNING: Tons of pictures to follow!
We got up really early (4:00am) Monday morning and drove straight through to California. The kids were really great considering they were in the car for almost 12 hours. Tuesday morning we got up early and headed to Disneyland and here are some pictures to prove it! :)

Day 1
First ride: The Jungle Cruise (while Nate and Gavin waited to use their Fastpasses on the Indiana Jones ride)

Donald Ducks Boat

Waiting for Jedi Training (Liam happy)

Still waiting for Jedi Training (Liam exhausted)

Someone randomly handed us this sign and said it helped to get their kid up on the stage for the Jedi training. Sure enough it worked for Gavin he was the first one picked during the show.

Waiting for instructions

Getting weapon of choice to train with.

Fighting Darth Vader!

Waiting to eat some yummy BBQ

Sleeping Beauty's Castle (Ashlyn was our Sleeping Beauty by this point) :)

Day 2

Park Entrance

Sleeping Beauty's Castle in the daytime

Riding the Monorail. We got to sit up front with the driver. The kids LOVED it!

The boys favorite character "Chip". By the way, I can't believe that you have to stand in line now just to get a picture with the Disney characters. Crazy!

Waiting for Nate and Gavin to ride a ride. We did a lot of waiting! :)

It's a small world, after a long hot wait in line.

Gotta love Nate in the background!

Ladybug ride

Carousel

Jellyfish drop

Cooling off. We did actually get quite warm the second day. It was lovely!

I was really impressed with all the rides that Gavin went on with Nate. However, he only went on two twice: Big Thunder Mountain railroad and Buzz Lightyear. I think the others were just a bit too much for him. We had a great time even with the crowds of people that had the same idea of spending Spring Break at Disneyland.
