August is over...

I am a blogger slacker. Things have been a bit hectic with school starting. Add to that dentist appointments (which are still ongoing), soccer starting, loads of laundry, house cleaning, yard work, etc... The list goes on. I'm sure all of you wives and mothers can relate. We have made it through two weeks of kindergarten with Gavin. He seems to enjoy it and has already come home telling us all the new Spanish words his is learning. (He is attending a charter school that teaches the kids Spanish from Kindergarten on up) Liam went to his preschool open house last week and is VERY excited to start preschool. He still has one more week of summer vacation. It is hard to believe that August is over. I'm not ready for cold, so I am hoping for a warm September. The only part of the fall season that I look forward to is football. Go Cougars! I will try to be a better blogger, but I am not making any promises! :)
I know it is a strange picture but the boys wanted to lay on the floor with Ashlyn for a picture.
Not the best picture, but at least they are all looking at the camera.

First Day of Kindergarten

Well we made it through the first day of school today. I don't know who was more nervous, me or Gavin. It seems to have gone o.k. At least from what I can get out of Gavin. He is not one to talk much about what he did. He did say that his favorite part was recess. I guess that means he is a pretty normal kid. It is hard to believe I have a kindergarter. I must be getting old. :) Thumbs up! Ready for school!

Last week of Summer...

We tried to fit a few last of summer things in last week, so here are some pictures from our trip to a Bee's game and our trip to the Davis County Fair. I guess summer isn't really over weather wise although we were in the 70's this last weekend. I am happy to keep it warm for a little longer. I'm not ready for snow! :)

Liam and his cousin Lizzy. You can tell that they were really paying attention to the game! :)
Thanks Grandpa for the fun evening. Here is the crew down the line.

Gavin with his cousins and Aunt and Uncle.

Gavin's favorite part of the Bee's game, a slushy!

One of the Texas Longhorns and the fair.

Liam and a goat. Liam wasn't too sure about standing next to it.
He was afraid of being nibbled on.

Another Texas Longhorn (and I'm not talking about Liam!)

August flying by...

It is hard to believe that we are in August already. Gavin starts school a week from today! AHH! I'm not sure if I am ready to start the whole school thing again. The summer has flown by. We are trying to fit in some last summer fun this week. I'll try to remember my camera and post some pictures. We did get down to Saratoga Springs last week and visit our old neighbors. The kids loved being able to see their friends. We miss having them as neighbors and are glad to be able to see them everyone once in a while. We also took Ashlyn to her 4 month appointment last week. I can't believe she is already 4 months old. She weighed in at 14 lbs 4 oz. and is 25 inches long now. That is about 70% to 75% for weight and height on the charts. She is a big girl! We are so glad to have her in our family. Her brothers give her so much attention. (Maybe too much at times!) Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!

Ready to play on the slip-n-slide.

Two buddies! Gotta love their different skin tones! :)

How does your garden grow?

Here's what we picked from our garden on Saturday: zuchinni, tomatoes, carrots, beans, jalapenos, and strawberries. I LOVE GARDENING!

Here is a couple pictures of our garden. The big plant in the corner is a pumpkin plant that produces large pumpkins! We have three that will be ready for carving in October.

The tomatoes are just starting to turn red. Bring on the salsa!!
