We're ready...almost

As part of my "things to do before the baby comes" list I finally got some pictures of the 'almost' finished baby's room. (I'll explain later the 'almost' part) I also realized I had some pictures from earlier this month that show a little of what we have been up to. I will warn you now that there are lots of pictures but they show what March has been like for us. Here goes:

We had a really warm week around the middle of March so the kids got out and did the first sidewalk chalk art of the year. Sadly we used all the chalk we had left so I guess we will have to buy some more to last the rest of the Spring and Summer. You can see from the pictures that Gavin is quite the writer and speller and that the boys have an obession with snakes and spiders!
If only they would actually look at the camera! :)

Now that we have early church we are enjoying our long afternoons together. The boys and Nate spent one Sunday afternoon building tall towers with our alphabet squares. Nate put the boys inside once the tower was built. Of course they had the most fun breaking it apart.

Next are the baby's room pictures before and after.

I actually sewed the window valance and crib skirt. I couldn't find anything in the stores that I liked and that didn't cost a fortune, so I found some material I liked and made up my own pattern. I think they turned out well. They are not perfect, but are exactly what I wanted. The room is pretty much done except for the dress drawers. We decided to paint the fronts of the drawers the same pink as the walls. They are currently drying in the garage. Other than that the room is ready!
We are looking forward to meeting our new addition on Tuesday (31st) The boys can't wait to see her. They are getting tired of just talking to my belly. :) I will try and have Nate post pictures soon after the big event!

Light at the end of the tunnel...

Just a quick update on our upcoming arrival. I went to the Dr. yesterday and she said I was dilated to a 1! Hooray! That is better than nothing! My Dr. was more than happy to schedule me to be induced (I knew I picked her for a reason! ). The big day will be March 31st, unless of course, I go before that. I am excited to know the end is near, but a little nervous for it all to come. I sometimes worry that I won't remember what to do with a new baby. Anyways, the baby's room is almost done. I promise to post pictures soon. My boys can't wait to meet their new sister. Liam asks me everyday when the baby will be out. I'm pretty sure the next two weeks will fly by. We will keep you posted on our happenings!

One month or less...

Let the countdown begin! I am so ready to be done being pregnant. My official due date is April 7th, but I am hoping that I can go a week early on the 3rd. (That is my plan, but I haven't shared it with my dr. yet :) ) My belly is quite large. (sorry no pictures) I'm still trying to figure out how I can get any bigger in the next month, but obviously it is going to happen. At my last Dr.'s appt the Dr. said I was measuring small! I figure she must be crazy because I feel huge! We haven't be doing much around here lately. Nate is working on the new baby's room. I will post pictures when it is done. I have been busy sewing a crib skirt and valance for the room. My boys are just busy being sick. They both have really nasty coughs along with runny noses. I think they are starting to get better, but who knows. We have had some spring-like days the past few weeks. It has been nice to send the boys outside. I also got most of my Spring pruning done the other day. I love that my bulbs are starting to pop up. It helps me to know that Spring is just around the corner. I guess that is about it. Sorry about the boring post without any pictures. I promise to post some pictures when the baby's room is all done. (hopefully that will be soon)
